Lost contacts

I recently upgraded to Yosemite. All of my contacts still appear on my iPad (iOs 8), but many of them have disappeared from my desktop. How do I get the iPad version to sync with my desktop?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Hello bert103,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like your contacts may not be enabled after updating to Yosemite. If you were using iCloud Contacts, simple navigate to System Preferences > iCloud and make sure you are signed in and contacts are turned on. For additional information, see this article:

Hey bert103,

Thanks for the follow up. I’m sorry to hear that you are still experiencing these issues. If you have exhausted all of the steps in the troubleshooting article I provided, it may be best to have someone look into this in a more personalized support environment by using another one of Apple’s support channels. To get started with that process, you can visit https://getsupport.apple.com/
