Whenever I burn CDs in iTunes, the timer reaches the end, and then the dialogue changes to "Burning - Finishing" or something like that. Shortly after, the disc ejects, and iTunes displays a warning that the drive had an error and didn't respond. The CD still plays, but the last track won't work. This happens no matter what size playlist. Any ideas?
It also does it when I try to burn a disk image, both using Disk Utility as well as Toast. The discs get about 1/4th of the way through, and then I'm given some sort of "write error" message, and the disk is ejected.
I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to backup 2.64GB of data to a DVD-R. I've tried using the finder to burn the disk and also Toast Titanium and I get the error when it trying to write the lead out. I've tried it different media so I don't think media is the problem. My HD has 7.26GB left on it. My drive is Matshita UJ-857. Any ideas?
Fixed it by decreasing the burn speed. Only problem now is it takes a little longer, but at least it gets all the data on, and it's not like I'm pressured for time.
