Thereâs something not right here. A new device has a 14 day return policy and a one year warranty even without Apple Care. Are there areas of the screen that are completely non-responsive? If so you need to take it back to the store and demonstrate the issue. Donât rely on an app, simply demonstrate the problem and they should take care of you.
I don't believe that having a screen replaced by a third prevents you from using the Support Communities. What is your basis for that statement?
The most you would lose is the balance (if any) of your one year hardware warranty.
i bought a brand new ipad from the apple store right out of the box it had dead spots all over the screen. i downloaded a screen tester from the app store to confirm this. when i took it to the apple store they said the could not help me becuase i did not buy apple care, even though the ipad was less than 3 days old. i am saving up to buy a samsung, but would like to know if there is a fix to this in the meantime.

Here is a link to Apple screen repair: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/repair/screen-damage/
Note that if you have any screen protector installed remove it. These can cause loss of screen sensitivity.
Apple Police!
What does that have to do with not being able to use the Support Communities? There is nothing like that in the terms of use for the forums.
I've not seen that statement made by anyone else.
If you are still under warranty take it in for a repair at a Genius Bar. If you are not near an Apple Store you can send it in for repair. Any warranty issues should be covered at not cost to you (other than shipping fees). However, if you are no longer under warranty then you can have the touch screen replaced by yourself or a 3rd party.
Apple Store genius bar will replace the screen for $129 assuming there is no other damage and you are out of warranty
That will maintain your relationship with Apple
If you
you can have the touch screen replaced by yourself or a 3rd party.
Then you waive any further support from Apple in all areas of support including this Community

Simple once an unqualified individual has poked around in an iPhone how do you think you or anyone else can accurately assist in diagnosing what might be wrong đ
