Q: Does idvd support the mpeg format that Sony uses for their video?

I have a Sony video recorder that records in mpeg format and I would like to use idvd to make into dvd's.

MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

iDVD supports MP4 but not MPEG 1 or MPEG 2 so if your Sony camcorder records in MP4 then yes.
If not then you can put your recordings through iMovie then into iDVD (Sony support article on it here: http://esupport.sony.com/p/support-info.pl?info_id=1192 the section is in the second half of the page)

Josh,
Thanks, for your input on the Sony issue. You noted "Sony support article on it here..."? Did you intend to include a reference to an article on Sony support? Nothing was included on it in your reply.
