MacBook Air 2011 64GB: How much storage space does OS take up?

I just ordered one of these from a Mac recycling company in Roseville CA. It supposedly has Mac OS 10.7.5 installed, but I'm curious as to how much of the 64GB SSD will be taken up if I update to Mac OS 10.8.5. This is mainly to be used only 1 once or twice a year when I have to do things like my mother's taxes (I don't want to lug my iMac on 200 mile round trip to her house).

Thanks, Kappy! It has 2GB of RAM so that would be 17GB. Leaving 10 - 20 GB for free space would leave about 37 - 27 GB for applications and documents. Looks like more than enough. Hmmm, I wonder if I could squeeze in a partition for Windows so I could run Ross-Tech's VCDS software? VCDS requires less than 100MB.
