Q: Safari Extension Issue is ******* me off

Hello there,

I bought the mbp less than a year ago and have been blown away by it's simplicity and friendliness. Have always been loyal to windows, but ****!.. Mac is awesome! Anyways, I do a lot of research and use a lot of evernote clipping and integration between iPads and iPhones, and so i thought it'd be awesome to use safari as a one browser-for-all tool.

Ever since the yosemite update, i have been unable to install any extensions. I'd install it, quit, open safari, and get ****** off because it's dissappeared. I check the ~Library/Safari/ extension folder, I'd have the extension install file, but when I go to safari preferences to check the extension list, there's nothing there at all.

I've tried the same advice which is delete the plist.. or change r/w permissions in the ~Library/Safari... blah blah blah..  I've even deleted the whole cookie list, restored my backup from a fresh yosemite update (I've only started using time machine when it was updated to yosemite, because I was too lazy to repartition my HDD NTFS to facilitate MacFAT.. ). Yes I have tried other browsers, especially firefox which does the same thing (its actually better than safari). But for reasons unbeknownst to me or my colleagues, I automatically revert to using safari instead. It's one of those mysteries in the universe that continue to bewilder me.

Anyways.. I've searched far and wide and realised that there are still people out there to this very day - that are still having this issue, (I checked the date of postings in google), who are still using the same special techniques with the same results... fail.

So I've finally had it with this thing, because it is ******* me off. I do not blog or ask questions directly, or reply in posts and forums because I usually am resourceful and able to figure things out myself using the internet. But this one threw me in limbo and I had no choice but to do this.. write a post..

So the question or request to the AWESOME APPLE PEOPLE is... "Can you please just recode safari in the next update?". Just a block of code to forever solve this issue and make me and other frustrated safari users out there happy and satisfied. Please... It may not even be a block. It may just be one line of code that was passed by the complier but actually executed in a strange way or something.. I don't know.. Thanks

PS: or if I missed something just tell me how to solve it. I've got a MBP retina display 2014 13" model. Thanks

Back up all data before proceeding.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to search for an item named "Safari Extensions List". If found, delete it. Quit Keychain Access.

    Quit and relaunch Safari.
