Ever since I updated to to iOS 8 a call coming into my iPhone rings on the phone but also on my iMac and iPad. I really don't need all this racket just to receive a phone call. How do I change this?

Your iPhone is where the modification needs to take place to stop the ringing on all your other Apple devices.
Go to: Settings->Phone->Calls on Other Devices.
Switch is On (Green): Everything that is connected via your iCloud account (e.g., your Mac and iPad) will ring every time.
Switch is Off (White): Only your iPhone will ring when you get a call.

Turn off iPhone cellular calls
To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.

Not really. The method often suggested inhibits the ability to make or receive WiFi calls from your Mac. I found a better method for me was to leave FaceTime settings alone and stop the ringing by going to FaceTime Notifications under System preferences and unchecking "Play sound for notifications".

There may very well be lots of times this was asked, but if the titles are not clear they can be confusing and I don't have time to sit and click every single thing that sounds like it might contain what I am looking for.
