Feb 7, 2015 11:45 AM in response to Loner Tby Aj2199,Yes, after upgrading to Yosemite my OD stopped working. Other people have had the same issue but I do not think a solution has been found yet.
Also, I have a 2010 iMac so it looks like I will be able to run Win8.

Feb 7, 2015 3:30 PM in response to Aj2199by Loner T,The reason it stops working is because a certificate tied to the Optical drive has expired. I cannot find the Apple article, but if you change the system date to something older in System Preferences -> Date & Time to say a date in 2012 and then test.
Please also see Error: The installation failed. An unknown installation occurred when installing bundled applications.
Do you have any pending Firmware Updates for your Mac?

You may also want to try an SMC reset and PRAM reset - Startup key combinations for Intel-based Macs - Apple Support.
