Q: Mac App Store linking app purchases to wrong account

When I first got my Macbook Pro I was using my family's Apple ID. I have now moved out of my house and have gotten my own Apple ID. However when I go to update any apps on my computer I have to input the password for my family's account, a password that I do not know. I understand that purchased apps are linked to the account in which they are bought, however, I have purchased several new apps on my computer using my own Apple ID. I know this because I type in the password for my account. Yet when I go to update these apps they seem to want to be updated with my family's ID. Is there a way to change this or does the App Store link it to the first account. It would make sense because I still have apps still linked to my family's account but also have some linked with my own. I have changed all of the settings on my mac to have my ID so I don't see where else it would be getting the other account from.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Mac App Store
