Time Machine performs a backup when I select Back Up Now, and the Time Machine preferences shows that a backup is scheduled, but Time Machine is not performing automatic backups. How can I can it to perform automatic backups?

I reinstalled the operating system according to the instructions found at the link below and now the automatic backups are again working.
But again the automatic backups are not working. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get them working?

The same thing happened to me a while ago. Doing a full reset solved the problem.

Did you have the same intermittent problem, where sometimes the automatic backups worked and sometimes they didn't?
I just did the full reset. A backup has completed, all the previous backups remain on the backup disk, and I have verified that I can access the previous backups through Time Machine. The backup took about an hour rather than a few minutes. I suspect that was because it had to connect the new backup to all the previous backups.
You are welcome. Mine just stopped automatic backups completely. After you reset it it probably did a deep scan (in essence a complete index) to determine what was already backed up. If you are curious about what Time Machine is doing, see A1 for a widget for Dashboard.
Backups are not being automatically performed. I'm going to see what other suggestions there are in Time Machine Troubleshooting.
I don't see any other relevant articles in Time Machine Troubleshooting. I will use Disk Utility to check the backup disk.
Disk Utility says the backup disk is ok. What else could I do to get the automatic backups to occur?
Not a fix, but can you open the application Time Machine and enter the backup?
Yes, I can access all the backups through Time Machine.
And now the automatic backups are once again working, for what reason I have no idea!
