If you have FileVault enabled, you can't. Defeats the purpose.

I just don't want to have to type my password just to turn on my computer. That only started since I installed Yosemite.

Alright, I noticed the Filevault tab right next to this and it said I didn't have it enabled. So that can't be the problem.
Have you tried going to the Users & Groups system prefs and enable Automatic Login there?
I haven't found any other settings that will disable that checkbox.

I'm with Niel, based on the above link.
@Niel Alright, I successfully changed my computer to use a different password, but it is still requiring that I enter a password at start up. It seems to be ignoring everything I change in the Users & Groups options, because Chrome kept opening automatically, and so I unchecked Chrome under the "Login Items" menu, but it is still opening automatically at start up
