Feb 8, 2015 8:44 AM in response to Nancy Koritzby Nancy Koritz,I purchased a new Apple Wireless Keyboard for the 2010 iMac. Without a working keyboard, I'm left staring at the screen with the user name and password login prompts. I'm not able to enter a password or access System Preferences.
Is there a way to access System Preferences without the keyboard? The mouse is working.

Feb 8, 2015 8:55 AM in response to Nancy Koritzby seventy one,Hello nancy,
You say the mouse is working and you want to go to Systems preferences. Guide the mouse to Apple logo, top left > click and on the drop down panel click on Systems preferences > then on Keyboard. This can be achieved without the use of the keyboard.

Feb 8, 2015 8:58 AM in response to seventy oneby Nancy Koritz,Although I am able to move the mouse to the top left of the screen, there is no menubar or Apple Icon. I'm looking at a grey screen with only the logon ID and password prompt box.
