POSIX error: Permission denied

Can anyone help me with understanding and solving a NSPOSIXErrorDomain:13 problem I'm having at the moment with Safari. My Mac is not allowing me to view a number of pages from the same web host. I've tried using a PC with the same internet connection here and it works.

I don't understand!

Any help appreciated.

Hello Paul,

You are welcome, I am very glad to have helped solve your problem.

I wanted you to stop its processes and then do a reboot to see if it was the culprit, though I had not doubt it was, this is not the first time, it has been an issue.

The Mac os x firewall configured properly and utilized with Little Snitch
ought to be adequate protection. 1 more thing A Brody's. Enjoy your Mac!

Kind Regards,

Maria / Eme

Exactly the same thing happens. Within a splitsecond, the following "Safari can't open the page" error appears:

Safari can’t open the page “ http://www.networkeq.co.uk/”. The error was: “POSIX error: Permission denied” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:13) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.

Hi,

Thank you both for your help. It was indeed related to Netbarrier - to be honest I'd forgotten I had that until you mentioned it. The IP had been put on the stop list because "it tried a scan port on your computer." I've no idea what that means - I'm not sufficiently techie enough - but having removed it, it now works. I don't know why it continued stopping the site when I thought I'd turned Netbarrier off, I clearly hadn't done that correctly.

Anyway, I really appreciate your time, and help in pointing me towards to root of the problem.

Best wishes,

Paul
