Q: VoiceOver Keyboard Problem

question: how can I get voiceover to receive keyboard input?

I connected my Apple wireless keyboard to my iPod touch, and all works well. However, when I turn voiceover on, I can navigate voiceover using the keyboard, but does not want to input text.
