iPod Music vanished but iTunes says its there but won't play.

Main Problem: My iPod Music App says "you have no music, go to iTunes Store" but iTunes still shows all my Music BUT when I attempt to play the songs an exclamation mark shows beside it.

When I add a new song - it works fine ~ the WHOLE library I had (3000Songs+) are not working or corrupted. The bar at the bottom sometimes says "20 GB AUDIO" and sometimes it shows NO AUDIO files are on the iPod.

Device: iPod 4th Generation

Latest Update : 6.1.6

Latest Version of iTunes

Diagnosis states everything is fine.

I've done the following to try fix the problem:-

  • Reset iPod to Factory settings
  • Sync'd
  • Re-installed iTunes
  • I had no backup - because this has never happened before -

Extra Notes:-

  • I only lost my Music - My Photo's / Videos / Other Apps are all fine / untouched
  • The iPod still works perfecting fine.
  • I've used different iPod wires to see if it was my wire that was faulty
  • I've done a system restore on my PC to see if it was an internal problem
  • I've checked with other discussions and they all said to do the stuff I've already listed. Some people got their music back - Some didn't
