Q: Loopie Query

Oh save me please.

I have two computers running Logic Pro X on both with Yosemite. One of them seems to have a more extensive drum loop collection than the other - there were vintage drum machine loops which I adored on my first computer (a tower) and unfortunately these are absent when I open up the loops from my more recent installation of LPX on my laptop. What should I do to "locate" these other loops which I assumed were factory presets. There are drum loops present just not all and the ones I found especially useful are the ones not on the second computer.

Do I make any sense to you who might be way more knowledgeable?

thanks

Make sure on the Mac without all the loops that..

    1) You have downloaded all the additional content via the menu option Logic Pro X > Download Additional Content... and manually check each section including after you click on the little 'triangles' on the lefthand side. Don't rely on the "Select All Uninstalled"  button at the bottom left... but check each category and sub category for yourself.

or if that is already done then....

    2) Logic Pro X: Loops from new Jam Packs may not appear in Loop Browser - Apple Support

Thanks for trying to help me. In the additional content I did see the drum machine loops and so I checked it off and downloaded it and checked off installation however I still didn't see it among the loops. I closed Logic and reopened it still wasn't there. I searched my desktop and found it within Contact player among vintage instruments inside Contact. I don't know why it installed there but it isn't available in the loops. shrug.

I also tried reindexing the loops still no drum machine pieces were located in the loops at all after.

Have you any more tricks up your sleeve?

I think you are getting a little confused....

Kontakt (I assume thats what you meant by Contact?) isn't part of Logic Pro X nor it's content...

It's a 3rd party plugin from Native Instruments that uses it's own libraries you must purchase unless they came free with Kontakt....

So, download and install those libraries  the same way as they were installed on your other Mac.... from whatever source you got them from.

    Additional:

If you mean the Drum Machine you see in the Additional Content in Logic.. highlighted in this screenshot

That isn't a collection of loops.... its a plugin found by opening up Logic's Library.... and selecting it from there...

    Hi

Yep, I was writing about Kontakt not Contact.

Didn't realize until hitting send that spellcheck changed the spelling in order to assist me appearing more foolish.

Yes I downloaded all additional content & yes I clicked on Drum Machine hoping to find the loops that exist on the other computer and yes I realize now that doesn't represent loops...loops represents loops.

Still no drum machine loop or vintage loop present in the loop collection (I forget specifically if the series of loops I'm missing were called vintage drum machine or just drum machine) but it was perfect for what I'm trying to do in a current film score.

    thanks
