Apple aim to please, not let you leave unhappy. Why I said this? My friend drop his on the train track in the subway and he explained to the specialist what happened, so they gave him a pair, free of charge. Apple is not about money... they are about happy smiles... Enriching lives... Remember that!

I suspect the shareholders would disagree. Good customer service is not about altruism. Happy, satisfied customers spend more money. That makes the company more money. It's a win for both parties but don't discount the existence of a profit motive.
