Remote disc/disc sharing
Where do I find 'shared devices/remote disc' connection in finder? Can see it on new computers, but not the ones that have CD drives (older). Thanks guys, p.s. Apple community rookie

Howdy Rod_Mac4ever,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you'd like to use the Remote Disc feature between your Mac computers, then I'd like you to take a look at the information in the article below. You should only see the Remote Disc option on the Mac without the optical drive.

Hi Alex
Thank you for your reply. I have indeed read that article and from what I can see done all the right steps.
e.g. I can view (in finder, remote disc) all the shared CD drives on network computers that don't have a physical CD drive (new macs of course), but the older macs that are a model before the current models which still have a physical CD drive, they are the computers I can't see the remote disc on anywhere.
Strange!

No, it is not strange. This option is not supported on the Macs with built-in optical drive. You have a confirmation of that in the article provided by alex_h1: Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support
If your Mac already has a built-in optical drive, or an external optical drive connected, you won't see the Remote Disc feature appear in the Finder or other apps.
