I updated to ios 8.1.3, i lost all my music and non can be added.
what can i do to rectify this problem?
i restored it and the problem is still there

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
Did you restore the iPod when connected to this computer/iTunes library?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs? (iTunes purchases only)

This is the same itunes i have always been using all the time so it shows up.
After it updated the music that was there is shown on itunes but not on the ipod itself. when i try play it from itunes it says file missing.
when i try to put music back on it not going on.
Only the ipod was updated because it happened in the space of an hour or so. after the update i got the problem
the books i had on it before is still there. but not the music.

We are having the same issue with my daughters ipod 5th gen, the music shows up on Itunes but not the ipod. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated thanks we are located in nZ. this problem only happened after she updated to 8.1.3
I tried restoring the ipod and putting the music back on. only for it to be deleted as i was finished. this new ios has to be the problem because i have never experienced this before
