Q: start up problem. Please help!

I have a MacBook Pro that will not start up. After pressing the power button a get a white screen with the apple logo. Then a few seconds later a load bar will pop up at the bottom of the screen. It loads all the way, then the computer shuts down. Any advice? Thank you!
