Feb 9, 2015 9:27 AM in response to WillTMby OldGnome,Are you disconnecting the Halo's before connecting the LINX?

Feb 9, 2015 1:15 PM in response to OldGnomeby WillTM,Oh, Yes, Thanks. Tried to hook up LINX first, in fact. Later, completely shut down and forgot Halo's before attempting re-install of LINX. Have done LINX re-install multiple times. EE Engineer here and worked with audiologist and with ReSound Tech Sppt and Consumer Service. No help yet. Like hearing aid but have until early March to return it. :(

Feb 9, 2015 5:08 PM in response to WillTMby OldGnome,ReSound thinks it's an Apple problem? That's not much help. I would think ReSound would have a vested interest in solving the problem. My experience with Starkey has been that they are quite willing to do what it takes to try and solve a problem.
That having been said, if you have tried unpairing and re-pairing the LINX to your iPhone and you are still getting only one hearing aid to connect, let's see what we can do to narrow it down.
1. Is it always the same hearing aid that doesn't connect?
2. Has the triple-click ever worked with the LINX?
3. Have you gone through the entire process of
A. Unpair the LINX
B. Power down the phone/force a restart
C. Power down the LINX
D. Power up the phone (wait until it is fully up)
E. Power up and re-pair the LINX
For what it's worth, I wore the LINX for a month before getting the Starkeys. YMMV

Feb 10, 2015 7:28 AM in response to OldGnomeby WillTM,Thank you again, Wise Gnome! I believe between the audiologists, ReSound, and me we have tried all of your suggestions ... yet to no avail. However to address each specifically:
That having been said, if you have tried unpairing and re-pairing the LINX to your iPhone and you are still getting only one hearing aid to connect, let's see what we can do to narrow it down. - To explain, I only need and have one hearing aid. That's where the problem lies. One hearing aid doesn't work on triple-click. The first time after a IPad 6 restart or after changing from one program to another using the button on the hearing aid, the screen appears correct and even gives the correct % volume control, label of "ReSound Linx 961" and hearing aid name. However in the triple-click screen the volume control doesn't change the hearing aid volume. Also, changing programs on the triple click screen appears to change but does nothing on the hearing aid. Live listen does work. Then, if you go out of the triple-click program and back in, all the functions disappear including the label of "ReSound Linx 961" and hearing aid name. Only the volume control shows up but at 0% volume and no ability to actually control the hearing aid.
1. Is it always the same hearing aid that doesn't connect? - The audiologist tried several hearing aids, all operated identical and did not work in triple-click.
2. Has the triple-click ever worked with the LINX? - No.
3. Have you gone through the entire process of
A. Unpair the LINX - Numerous Times - Still Doesn't Work.
B. Power down the phone/force a restart - Numerous Times - Still Doesn't Work.
C. Power down the LINX - Numerous Times - Still Doesn't Work.
D. Power up the phone (wait until it is fully up) - Numerous Times - Still Doesn't Work.
E. Power up and re-pair the LINX - Numerous Times - Still Doesn't Work.
Still seems like an inherent SW issue that ReSound is unwilling (or unable) to face up to.
Thanks again!

Feb 10, 2015 7:48 AM in response to WillTMby OldGnome,("Wise?" Not necessarily. "Old?" Eeyup.... )
I"m sorry. I didn't follow you all the way on the monaural component of the problem.
I don't think having only one hearing aid is the problem - and the iPhone shouldn't care whether you have one or two hearing aids. To test, I removed and powered down my R hearing aid. I forced my iPhone to reboot and after it came all of the way up, the triple-click worked. (Then again, I have Starkeys and it could be that it works for me because the R one is paired. I will try to find a time to unpair both hearing aids and then pair just one.)
Have you tried making an appointment at the nearest Apple Store to see if they can work magic neither your nor I have access to?

Feb 10, 2015 8:45 AM in response to OldGnomeby WillTM,Young, Sage,
We also tried the Starkey Halo in monaural, and it worked great. Leaning to the LINX because of size and button on the hearing aid to easily change programs when in meetings, etc. I do believe it's a ReSound monaural issue. My wife at the same time purchased 2 hearing aids for here IPhone 5 and they work great in triple-click.
Have not gone to the Apple Store with this but have spent several hours on the phone with Apple Support who (after I broke through the system) worked directly with the Apple Engineering. All I could get is that I was apparently doing things right and the ReSound had a problem. Here is Apple's (cop-out) e-mail to me:
This appears to be expected behavior as Resound’s own website does not list iPhone 6 as a compatible phone yet for their hearing aids. Please see the following link which shows the iPhone 5s as the highest compatible model of iPhone available http://www.resound.com/~/media/DownloadLibrary/ReSound/Products/LiNX/MFi-quickgu ide.ashx I would have the customer speak with the
manufacturer again to see when they will be supporting the iPhone 6.Sincerely,

Feb 10, 2015 10:21 AM in response to WillTMby OldGnome,That makes sense I know that Starkey took a while to support the iPhone. They don't seem to support yet iOS 8.1.3, 8.1.2, 8.1.1 or 8.1with the iPhone 5 line. I know that I have had zero problems since iOS 8.1 with my iPhone 5S.

Feb 13, 2015 12:00 PM in response to WillTMby gnresound,Hi WillTM, we’re sorry that you’re experiencing some issues using the Triple Click functionality with your ReSound hearing aid. We have shared your comments with our R&D group and they are investigating. In the meantime, the ReSound Smart app works great with monaural fittings and gives you all of the functionality you experience with the Triple Click, other than Live Listen. We hope the ReSound Smart app functionality will meet your needs. If you do find yourself with other questions, our Consumer Support team is available at (888) 735-4327 or consumerhelp@gnresound.com.

Mar 10, 2015 8:08 PM in response to WillTMby Llaratta,Hi WillTM, I wear a single hearing aid and I am having the same problem that you are with the triple click function. I wear a hearing aid in my left ear. When I triple click, my iphone 6 shows the "Right Volume Percentage" which logically says 0%. The rest of the screen is blank. In order to use live listen I have to go to Settings, Hearing Aids, Click on Lisa's hearing aids, below the Hearing Aid Volume (for my left ear) and the presets I click on Start Live Listen. Interestingly, this screen (accessed through settings) recognizes that there is a battery in the left ear only (indicated by the battery icon with a the letter l to its left) and the triple click function shows only the right volume. Isn't the triple click shortcut supposed to show the same screen that I see when I go through settings? When I triple click I do not get battery percentage, presets, or the Live Listen option. I have an appointment next week and was told that I can turn in my Linx for the Linx2 with no extra fee since I picked up my hearing aid the day Resound released the new product information.
On a different note, How do you like Live Listen with only one hearing aid? It has an echo effect for me due to the short time it takes to travel through the microphone. This is not a big deal. I have a similar challenge while streaming to my hearing aid with the bluetooth. If there is noise or talking near me it over powers the hearing aid volume. I have found this frustrating at the gym and have to put an earplug in my good hearing ear to muffle the background noise.
Hopefully, customer support reads this message to help validate your findings. Thanks for posting.
Lisa

Mar 10, 2015 11:42 PM in response to WillTMby WillTM,Same...same...same as original post. In spite of all the words and recent updates by Resound and Apple, my LINX hearing aid still does't work in triple click And still exhibits all the problems that I previously posted. Llaratti seems to be having many of the same problems. Just forwarded her post to my audiologist and asked her if LINX2 could possibly fix problem? Still need help!!!

Mar 11, 2015 12:04 AM in response to WillTMby WillTM,LLaratta,
Don't think you can do anything about the delay echo while in Live Listen. Seldom use it for that reason. Your work-around of plugging your good ear sounds like a viable way to go, but oddly and ironically seems to defeat the purpose of a hearing aid. Please let me know if LINX2 fixes any of the issues of these posts. Good luck and thanks for your post. Maybe someone at Resound and Apple will fix this problem. Starkie apparently has none of these issues.

Mar 11, 2015 7:49 AM in response to WillTMby Charman03,I have ONE linx 9 as well and paired with an iphone 6. I too am having the same issues with triple click; however about every 5 tries the proper screen does show up, with the live listen option, volume control and my choice of settings.
So triple click does infact work, just 1/5 tries which is not acceptable. But it works sometimes, so cant be far off.
Only way I can get it to show is on lock screen.
-stream music to your aid by swiping up.
-triple click (wont work)
-pause music
-triple click again (usually will pop up the right way after a few seconds)
-triple click again if it didnt work, usually shows up after a few times.
Hope someone gets it fixed up right, but it does occasionally work
