How do I transfer my songs on my ipod nano to my ipod touch through itunes.

I have an older ipod nano and I recently purchased an ipod touch and would like to transfer my songs from my old ipod to my new one. The main issue I am having is that my ipod nano doesn't connect to wifi and when I have it connected with itunes on my computer it doesn't give me the option to back it up to my computer so I can transfer the songs from there. Is there a way to fix this or this there a way to transfer from songs from the nano to the touch through itunes without backing it up first. Any help would be great, thank you.

Some came from a zip drive full of mp3s that was accidentally deleted by my best friend to put her wedding pictures on and the rest are from cds most of which I no longer have. I thought if I could back up my nano to my computer then I would be able to transfer them to my new ipod but it doesn't give me the option to do that in iTunes. So I was wondering if I plugged both of my ipods in the same computer if I would be able to copy all the songs from my old ipod to my new one.

I've got the same problem. I've got some albums from my Dad's iTunes which are on my old iPod Nano 6th Gen and now I've got my own iTunes account and I currently have an iPod Touch 4th Generation and I want to swap over some of the albums, not all, onto my iPod. Is this possible to do without deleting all the stuff on the Nano and putting it into my current iTunes library cus there are a lot of songs on my Nano which I don't like anymore.

You'll need a 3rd party App like iExplorer to extract the music from the iPod Nano's and then re-import it into an iTunes Library on a computer, and then sync that library them onto whichever device you want.
