Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like all you need to do is log out of your Apple ID on her iPad and sign in with hers.

I'm wondering if it's because I originally plugged the iPad into my PC when 1st turned on an loaded all my backed up stuff onto it?? The only other thing I'm now thinking is to reset iPad an srt up as new??

While setting up the iPad as new might work, you may find other options by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.
