Sound does not work in iTunes, but works going to tv on airplay

Question

MacBook Air (13 inch mid 2013) 1.3 GHZ i5, 8 mb DDR3, @%^ MB storage.

Sound stopped working when using iTunes 12.1.0.50. Sound works when using Airplay to TV.

Around the same time I burned a new song , using port on right side with

DVD burner. I downloaded a second song and tried to burn another disc but iTunes could not find burner.

I unplugged from the right hand USB, plugged into the left side and it found and burned the second song.

I can not play any song in my library using internal speakers. Sound in Preference panel show sound volume up using internal speakers.

I don't know of anything else to do, have Applecare.

in the sound menu for the computer itself Itunes should have its own volume control as an application
