Mac OS XWrong. A Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 does not use a SIM and has no place to insert one.

This is an issue on the Verizon/Apple end; due to an error in configuring Verizon activation records when you attempt to activate a Verizon iPhone 4 you will get this error. You need to call Apple and describe the problem; the tech reps will have to escalate your issue. Most reps now know this, but prepare yourself by reading this thread, especially the last couple of pages of it: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6796327
