Bluetooh on my iPod Touch 5th Gen with iOS 8.1.3 (started with iOS 8.0)
Unlike Yosemite that remembers the device and all I have to do is select it from the drop down menu, iOS 8 remembers the device but I have learned I have to Forget Device and re-pair it every time I want to use my bluetooth earbuds with my iPod Touch. UGH... I've tried various fixes like Reset. Nada.

Are you using the BT device on another device?
Did you reset the BT device?
Did you reset Network Setting on the iPod?
Have you went to the manufactures support site?
Have yo restored from backup?
Have yo rrestored to factory settings/new iPod?

Only worked until I turned off (not shutdown) the iPod.
Then try the restores
did restore... also I have 10.10 on a 2014 Mini and an upgraded 10.9 to 10.10 on MBPro... the MBPro has no problems with Bluetooth remembering but the Mini is like the iPod Touch...
Bluetooh on my iPod : Have to Forget Device every time.
