Remove dmg from Trash

I downloaded a Yosemite update a few days ago.

Nothing seemed to have happened, clicked again and then found I had downloaded two Combo dmgs.

It had been a long day, replacing a failed drive and restoring it's content.

I sent the 2nd download to trash and installed the first easily.

When I went to trash I found the 2nd dmg but was not allowed to delete it.

No big deal in itself, I suppose, but if anyone has a work around to remove this from Trash which would not unduly tax my few remaining grey cells, I would be delighted to here from them.

Kind regards.

Tom

Hi Eric,

Time difference meant I got your suggestion rather late.

Your suggestion was unsuccessful .

on browsing through my "Utilities " I found "Disk Doctor" which I had forgotten I even had or why.

Opened it up closed everything except "Trash' and "Voila" Trash empty!

Goodness knows what else may have gone down the drain, but I'm happy at the minute.

Thanks for your help,

Tom
