I want to use my old 3Gs as an ipod but I can't activate it without sim card. How to do that ?

You can use any sim to activate the iPhone ,then remove it and turn off cellular in settings

However if the 3GS is carrier locked then a sim from that carrier must be used to just process the activate bit
