When I put an image in the book layout it is removed from the browser.
Is their a way to change it so the image can remain in the browser and
have the number appear in the corner of the image?
Change the Browser back to "Show all Images" from "Show unplaced Images". This toggle is shown in the Browser pane as two ganged icons showing four rectangles in a grid.
