My iTunes icon has become red and now i can't copy music to pen drive

My iTunes icon on Mac Air has become red. Also when i trying to copy songs to Pendrive, it says "The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items".

Howdy K K Daga,

If your iTunes icon is now red, it sounds like you have upgraded to iTunes 12.

iTunes 12.1

For copying files, please check which ones copy or don't copy and check the lock status and permissions in both locations.

Mac OS X: File can't be moved if locked - Apple Support

To fix this, unlock the file before you move it. Follow these steps:

  • 1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
  • 2. Select the file.
  • 3. Choose File > Get Info (or Show Info for Mac OS X 10.1.5 or earlier).
  • 4. Click to deselect the Locked option.

Tip: If the checkbox is dimmed, you probably don't have permission to move or edit the file.

Nubz
