How can I check to see if my iPad is unlocked

How can I check to see if my iPad is unlocked, other than inserting a new SIM?

This is following an 'unlocking' by EE my existing network supplier.

iPad Mini, iOS 7.1.2

iPads are not locked to providers as they are not phones. They only use the cell network for data and locking is not supported for data only. The sim only provides access for the data portion of the network. You can change providers daily if you like.

I was not aware that iPads were locked to providers. Other than inserting another SIM, there is no way to test it, just like the iPhone.
