What does vf nl 15.6 mean?

My phone broke and I am trying to activate my iPhone 4s that I previously bought and used with Verizon. When I go to the carrier settings though, it says the carrier is vf nl 15.6. Does anyone know what this mean? Why is it not displaying Verizon? I cannot activate the phone because of this problem. Please if anyone has had this problem and fixed, I would appreciate the help.
