Yosemite Dock and Word 2008

Recently updated 2007 iMac to Yosemite. Now find that:

1. If I attempt to open a Word 2008 document directly from its location on disk, it opens fine, carrying the header name "MyFileName.docx".

2. If I attempt to open that same document from a position in the Dock, it opens but displays the header name "Document 1.docx"; the data content displayed appears to be okay, but when I try to close it immediately (making no changes) I'm asked if I want to save the changes I made (again, I did not make any changes), but the application apparently thinks I did).

3. If I place an alias of that same document onto the Desktop and attempt to open it from there, it opens fine, carrying the header name "MyFileName.docx".

If I place a pdf file onto the Dock, it opens fine with its header name as it should be.

This problem did not occur in OS X 10.7.5, which is where I upgraded to Yosemite from.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 2.66 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM
