Sleep/ Wake problem

Can anyone tell me if they are having the same issue. I have a 2011 macbook pro running Yosemite 10.10.2. My problem is when I either put the mac to sleep or it goes to sleep on is own It won't come back on when I try to wake it I can hear the fans come on but the screen stay's black normally before Yosemite all I had to do was push the space bar to get it tot turn on but it no longer responds. Sometimes it will come on but most of the time I resort to pushing and holding the power button. Is anyone having the same problem Is it the hardware or Yosemite. any help would be much appreciated.

I ended up doing exactly that and it worked for a couple of hours and then went back to doing it. I ended up going into the terminal and changing the hibernation mode, there are three different hibernation modes. Mine was set to three, RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically. So I put my mac into setting 0 Old style sleep mode, with the RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super super-fast wake. After doing this I haven't had a single problem it still bothers me as to why it started doing it in the first place because it never did. But I constantly use my mac so i don't need my RAM written to the drive every time it goes to sleep. This is the site I used to help me along with this I hope this help's.
