Q: iTunes fails installation with 0x80070422

i tried to install this latest iTunes update, and it jammed showing above message, so uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled with the same result

any ideas?

iPhone 4S, Windows 7

Hello alanfromwickford,

I am not finding much for that error code 0x80070422. Can you tell if it's an iTunes error or a Windows error?

For help with the iTunes install, please see

If you can't install or update iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

If you need to you may want to remove all Apple software and try again.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support

If that is a Microsoft error you may want to check with them as well.

thanks fir the reply, i'm running windows 8.1

i have uninstalled itunes and re-installed it, but crashes with that error

i googled it to no avail if an M$ issue i'd think it would up on a forum?

going to try it on an older lappy with Windows 7
