Help for a newly visually impaired iphone user

I'm trying to help my dad who has recently lost most of his central vision. He has an iphone5 and is getting by with the tap and voice over options but I am sure there is more available that could help him? We're about to get him an iphone 6plus and I've read about KNFBreader, is there anything else that could help? Does anyone know if the apple store can help him with set up etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

Hi Jane9656,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you would like to know about the different Accessibility features the iPhone offers for vision impairment. There are several features built in that I would suggest reading about. Please refer to the attached link for information about the iPhone’s wide range of Accessibility features.
