3G or H+ network

Hello from France,

My iPhone can't differentiate 3G network versus H+ network, contrary to Android device, despite the important difference of speed between these internet accesses.

Why ?

-Is there an unactivated option in settings which could be changed and let this recognition ?

-Is it a technical lack in iOS technology ?

Sorry for my bad english,

Thank you for your answers.

Hello! I visited Paris 2 years ago! 🙂

Which network are you on?

Does your mobile plan support LTE?

If so, have you turned on LTE? (Settings > Cellular Data)

I highly recommend using that network as it is more efficient and faster than 3G/H+

I don't know about the European network scheme as 3G may only show for both networks... but here in America, 3G/4G/LTE symbols show on the iPhone for the difference between 3G and H+.

Hello, I hope you will get the occasion to come back for visiting beautiful french régions like Brittany or Corsica !

My subscription include 3G and H+ (which is between 3G and 4G).

In cellular network i have an option "activate 4G" but not LTE.

When I am in H+ iPhone display 3G but the speed is higher than 3G.

It seems to be a displaying problem.

I'm sorry. Your last post made very little sense in English.

"4G" is a marketing term. It has no technical meaning any more. Not since the ITU caved on the definition of "4G" under pressure from carriers.

H+ is also a marketing term.

HSPA+ is, according to the ITU's 'refined' definitions, "4G". LTE is also "4G" according to the same definition.
