Iphone 4s unable to connect to dlink
Having problems connecting to Dlink dir-600 router from my 4s. The error I get is "unable to join the network". Can anyone help me with this please?

What troubleshooting have you done? Have you ever been able to connect the iPhone to the network? Have you power cycled the router? What kind of security to do you set for the router.
I have tried changing it from n/b/g to just n or just g/b. I have also tried power cycling. If you mean security like firewall then I use bitdefender 2015
I was referring to WEP or WPA. Have you tried setting it with no security and tried to connect, just to see if it will. The security is WPA/WPA2. When I put it to no security the error is still "unable to join the network"
You never indicated if you were ever able to connect to this router in the past. Also, what troubleshooting have you done on the phone. I would start with a reset, holding the sleep/wake an home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. If that does not do it, then go into Settings>General>Reset and Reset Network Settings. That will not affect your data, but will reset all of your Wi-Fi network passwords. If that one doesn't do it, then go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. That will clear all passwords. If that does not help, then try a restore on the phone from your backup. Then if necessary, restore as new, not from a backup and do not add any content back on the phone after you finish the activation screen. Then test connecting to the router.
Ok I have never tried connecting to this router in the past. I forgot to mention that i did Reset Network Settings and that didn't help. I tried the settings in the link you gave and that didn't help either. Thanks for coming to my aid and I will try your other suggestions of resetting the entire system. How do I restore as new because I have no backup.

I should also mention that sometimes the error I get is "incorrect password" even though I double check the password and ensure its correct.
Restore as new is not using a backup. You have to create a backup first. If you have synced with iTunes in the past, it creates one, but connect now and create a new one. One last question, is this router using 2.4GHz or 5GHz connections? I don't believe the 4s could use 5GHz. You may have to force it to 2.4GHz. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else to recommend. Can you connect to other Wi-Fi networks, such as public networks at library, school, Starbucks?
I have connected to the one at work before. My router is 2.4Ghz. I know restore as new is not using backup, what I mean is that I have no backup before this problem and so I would like to know how to restore as new as that is what you suggested next in the case there is no backup.

Well, just remember without a backup, all of your content will be lost. You would have to sync content back manually. To restore as new, connect the device to the computer and iTunes and select restore. See this support document. Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
