I just downloaded FinalCut Pro Trial version and through to buy it later if it works for me. but the movie i tried ti import is in MKV format. Please tell me why this so famous software is not supporting MKV format ? now what should i do to import that movie ?
i need to cut some parts of that movie, then remerget it and extract some audio from it.

MKV is a format used only for delivery not for production. You will need to convert to QuickTime.

That's the QuickTime player. It's designed to play QuickTime files in the QuickTime format.
Try Handbrake.

Open the presets. Click Toggle Presets.
Might be time for you to spend some time at the Handbrake user forum. But just leave them at the defaults. If you need to get fancy with handbrake you will need to download the entire operations manual and spend a few hours in it. It's like watching paint dry.
i agree but what i'm thinking that i need a clip of 3 minutes, and for that first i'd have to convert all 4 GB file/1.5 hours into MP4 and then will have to trim/cut through FinalCutPro software.
No other software which gives me simply these option including MKV support ?

mkv is no 'format' in its original means.
it's a container, or media-wrapper - can contain literally all sort of stuff.
In your case a rip-off of a commercial DVD - could be mp2, could be h264, could be ogg, could be ... anything.
There are tools avail, such as MKVtoolnix, claiming to handle all that… most based upon ffmpg, which is far from robust, nor delivering standard-conform formats, due to reverse-engineering ...
well, that's one of the many probs with torrents rip-offs... 😉
