On occasion, I've been unable to enter a password on my 27-inch, Mid 2010 iMac when coming out of sleep mode. I have it set-up to ask for a password after 15 minutes of inactivity. The password window will have a flashing cursor, but no characters actually enter into the window. It seems to do this after a long periods of inactivity. The only change I've made is to install a new HD (I restored from a SuperDuper backup).

OS is 10.10.1

Use Software Update/App Store to update your OS to OS 10.10.2. Also, update everything SU/AS has to offer for your computer. When done, repair permissions and restart your computer.
