I would start by going to settings-general-reset-reset network settings. This will not erase any apps or media but will erase wifi passwords. It worked for me will iOS 8 on my iPad Mini. Hope this helps! 🙂

Sorry, I tried to edit my last post but couldn't.

Further to the above, in desperation, I decided to connect my ipad to the network through a VPN, which was already installed. It worked and now my ipad connects to the internet whether or not I am using the VPN. Hope this might be a solution for someone else suffering from the same problem.

I hope you dont mind me joining in this discussion but I have got the same problem as JimHdk. I went to the 'i' in settings

but there is nothing there. I tried to reset Network Settings but unfortunately I cannot remember password! My Router

is Talktalk-510DC8 Security WPA2. The password printed on my router does not work!

Oh I would appreciate your help please?

You may not really be connected to your WiFi network.

Your router may not have given your iPad a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the "i" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.

Sometimes the fix can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Do not reset your router. Next, reset network settings on your iPad (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.

If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

I have had this problem since this morning, when I reset my router because the wifi network wasn't working at all. My laptop, android phone and internet radios are all connecting fine to the internet and functioning properly now and my ipad 4 is showing as connected to the wifi network. I can use the Chrome browser I installed on the ipad because I'm not too keen on Safari fine, but when it comes to Safari itself, or any Apps, or the App store or itunes store, I get a message telling me there is no internet connection, or that the app cannot connect. I have tried absolutely everything that I can find suggested by Apple support and in the last resort, tried resetting all the settings, but all to no avail. Should I just put my ipad in the bin and buy a different brand of tablet? This coincides with my updating the software to the latest version, iOS8.1.3 last week, but up till today, I hadn't had any connection problems with my ipad.
