Try this

  • Go to your Inbox folder
  • Tap on the "Edit"-Button on the top right
  • Select the first email in your list
  • Hold down the "Move" button
  • While you are still holding the "Move"-Button, deselect the first E-Mail
  • Put away all your fingers from the screen and wait a few seconds
  • Now Mail asks you where to move ALL of your emails
  • Select the Trash Folder as destination
  • From inside the Trash Folder, you can delete all items at once

I will have to find out where I got this from and edit. It does work, takes a little dexterity and patience.

Edit:

quickly looking this is one of the earliest references I have seen (2011)

Hi Sparkleberry

Thank you for the kind reply.

However this is an old method for previous iphone versions

and it doesn't work proberly because the messages re-appear in a while...

I have repeated this method several times as suggested, but again...

all messages re-appeared.

I was asking if there is any improvement for that issue on iPhone 6 and IOS 8 +

I have read somewhere that mass messages may be deleted if you sign in online to your profile

..but I did't understand which profile and which website..

If anyone here knows anything about it, please let me know.

Well.. I just tried again.

It doesn't work -maybe because I have 5430 messages

Did you check this method succesful to delete such a big number of inbox e-mails?

I think that this method works for 100-200 max messages

I just check additionally the settings regarding the "permanent delete from server" issue and its ok

Thank you again for trying to help

Appreciated!
