Q: Apple ID / new e-mail on iOS device not verified yet

I need help.  I hope someone in the community can help me out.  I have a 64 GB iPhone 5s, and a Mid 2010 15" MacBook Pro.  I also have two Apple ID's, the first Apple ID I started to use when I got my first Mac back in 2000, the second Apple ID I have I got when I got my first iPhone in 2007.  Back then it was called .Mac.  Recently I had to update my first Apple ID because the e-mail associated with it I had no more access to it.  So I thought I would update the primary email address for the first Apple ID with my .Mac / Mobile Me / iCloud e-mail address, which happens to be my second Apple ID. I seem to be having an issue with my Apple ID on my iPhone 5s. When I try to manage the iCould services on my iPhone all it ever tells me is "Account Not Verified" and everything is grayed out.  I'm not sure what to do.  I've bought a lot of music and apps with my first Apple ID, and Ive done that same with my second Apple ID.   Please someone  help me, I'm not really sure what to do.  I just want to merge both accounts together so I only have one Apple ID on all of my Apple devices.

The Facts:

    Hi jstallworth,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! The root of your issue is that you cannot use an email address that is already in use by another Apple ID. Our system should have blocked this from happening in the first place, but in any case - let’s see if we can get this resolved.

Change your Apple ID - Apple Support

    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202667

In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. You can change your Apple ID to any other email address you control, as long as it's not already in use as an Apple ID. If your email address ends with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com, it's already an Apple ID.

As outlined above, you cannot associate an icloud.com, me.com or mac.com email address with an existing Apple ID, because these types of accounts are already Apple IDs themselves. You’ll need to create a new email address that you have access to (non-Apple), to associate with your first Apple ID.

You’ll then need to verify this email address, as the current address is not verified (which is why you are receiving an error message):

If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201455

Furthermore, at this time there is not a way to merge Apple ID accounts:

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

If you are wondering how using multiple Apple IDs relate to iCloud, see Apple IDs and iCloud.

    Hy,

I've changed my primary email address associated with my Apple ID and since then I can't activate AirDrop, it keeps asks me for the password of the old email address. Even if I type in the password for that email, it says "invalid login name or password".

When I go to Settings -> iCloud, shows the old email address, but if I click on it to view my Apple ID it still shows the old email address and if I go further to Contact information it shows the new email address with "primary" at the end. I've tried to reset all the settings of the device, but now I can't even activate my iMessage and FaceTime, when I tried first time to set them up, it pop up the old email address, I've deleted and put the new one, but now shows "waiting for activation".

What can I do to fix this?  The new email address is not associated with any other Apple ID.
