Feb 14, 2015 5:55 PM in response to Michelle Willsonby Niel,If it’s a Mac OS X program, insert the CD, and depending on the software, either drag the application to the internal drive or double-click the installer.
If it’s a Windows program, you need to use Wine, CrossOver Mac, or Windows to run it.

How do I install a program adobe photoshop from a cd to my computer
You've posted your question in the Mac Pro desktop computer forum and all but the most recent Mac Pro's came with a CD/DVD drive built in. Since you have a MacBook Pro, is your question how to install from a CD when you don't have a built in CD drive? If so, one solution would be to get a USB SuperDrive. Or, since many programs require entering some form of validation code, and that's often on the CD or the box it came in, see if there's a downloadable version and use the printed code with that.
If you mean you've got an optical drive but the installation process is not clear, just follow Kappy's and Niel's advice.
