My original post was deleted/censored, so this is a repost.

I would give more details, but imessages doesn't give me any feedback or ideas to troubleshoot which is frustrating.

iMessage has encouraged me to "try again" for the past 6 months..
I have no idea where to begin.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

In your User's Library/Preferences, delete these files.

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imessage.bag.plist

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imservice.ids.FaceTime.plist

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imservice.ids.iMessage.plist

Log out under the Apple in the Menu bar.

Log in and setup Messages.

If this fails, Create a test User in System Preferences. Log into the test user and sign in with your iCloud account. Does messages work in the new User.

The User's Library folder is hidden by default. To unhide: Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.

CREATE A NEW USER

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups

Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar.

Please sign out of iMessage on all your devices and sign back in. If there's no change, see below.

You (or someone else who knows your Apple ID and password) may have signed in on an unauthorized device or a virtual machine. In that case, the ID would be blacklisted by Apple, and only Apple could remove it from the blacklist.

Click the Support link at the top of this page to schedule a call from Apple Support. According to reports, you won't be charged for the call if you select "Apple ID"—not the hardware model—as the product you're asking about.
