Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. Oh man! That definitely sounds frustrating. We have a resource that you can use to troubleshoot unresponsive trackpad issues:

However, since you stated the MacBook is new - it may be best to return to the point of sale and demonstrate the issue. All new Apple hardware comes with applicable warranties that should cover this issue if not resolved by the resource above.

My Macbook Retina 13" (late-2012) is doing the same thing, started yesterday. I noted when I activate Capslock, and put my finger on trackpad, my keyboard is momentaneously disabled.
My Macbook is already out of warranty. What can I do?
I'm using a USB mouse, and this crazy keyboard.
