in Pages, "Open Recent" list has disappeared.

I have a MacBook Air and use Pages for writing. Until recently, I could click on "Open Recent" and be presented with a list of about ten items, ranked in order starting with the one I'd worked on most recently. Now that list has disappeared and all I see when I click on "Open Recent" is "Clear Menu". I have had to go to my computer's long list of Documents to work on things. And when I do, they don't appear when I click on "Open Recent." I recently updated a whole bunch of things in the Apple Store that I had neglected for months, so this might be related to an update. Very annoying. What can I do?

Search with Spotlight.

The differences are significant and obvious if you have a version of Pages 5.x and earlier versions such as Pages '08/'09.

They are somewhat more subtle if you have Pages 5.2.2 and Pages 5.5.2.

I have 3 versions on my Yosemite install. Pages '09, Pages 5.2.2 and Pages 5.5.2.

To see which you have open look under the application menu of any App for the "About", even in Finder for OS X and your hardware.

As always Ian you are right on this. All 3 versions on mine have the same list.

The one time I don't check! :)

Apple just adding to the confusion.

Have you noticed the subtle change in the icons between Pages 5.2 and Pages 5.5? Wish they'd fix the @#$% App instead of fiddling with minor graphics.

Hi jojojoe,

How can I know if I have two Pages?

Spotlight (the magnifying glass, top right of your screen)

User uploaded file

Top hit is Pages 5.x in my Applications Folder.

Second hit is Pages '09 in a subfolder (iWork '09) inside my Applications Folder.

Drag the icons to your Dock. Right click (or control click) and choose Options > Keep in Dock

Here are both icons on my Dock:

Just a thought, but check in App Store to see if there are any minor updates. Sometimes it seems that updating an app or an OS leaves the other updates "hanging about" for that last little update.

Ian.
