Q: Can't delete tracks on iPhone

I've had a problem with iTunes Match randomly duplicating tracks on my phone, and then any attempt to deleting them removing both copies.

To fix this, I have disabled iTunes Match on iPhone (5s, iOS 8.1.3) and on iTunes (12.1.0).

I have gone into Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage > Music > [All Music] < Delete.

This leaves me with fragments of two albums on my phone, which I cannot swipe to delete. They are definitely on the phone as they play without network connection.

How do I get rid of these unwanted tracks?

(Once I've deleted them, I can start syncing other tracks.)

Hi DWaldock,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like there is music on the device that you are not able to remove. Since iTunes Match has been turned off I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help remove those songs.

Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod - Apple Support

Once the songs are removed try to turn on iTunes Match.
