Can't install iTunes on my Surface Pro (work tablet) because it can't find the iTunes6464.msi file. Any thoughts?

See the advice at Install missing components. You can unpack the installer for the version you are trying to repair/remove to get access to the relevant .msi files.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:

When I click on either of the .exe provided above, I get the error that a later version is already installed on this computer. Well DUH, really?? Of course it is! However, I cannot load the latest version of iTunes no matter what I try. I cannot locate the iTunes6464.msi program either. Could it be that it is looking for an .exe file instead, especially since all the other links above end in .exe?
Press WinLogoKey+R, type Regedit in the Run dialog and press Enter/Return.
Click Edit > Find, type in itunes6464.msi (or the name of the problem .msi if different), change the Look at boxes so that only Data is ticked, then click Find Next.
You should find it somewhere like:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\{Long string of letters & numbers}\SourceList
Right-click on the immediate parent key with the long string of letters & numbers that contains the SourceList with the reference to the .msi file and click Export, save it to say the Desktop with the name iTunes.reg so the data can be restored if removing it doesn't help. Now right click on the key again and select Delete from the context menu. This should stop the Windows Installer from looking for the .msi when you reinstall iTunes.
If the install still won't go through then double click the iTunes.reg file you made to restore the data to the registry, then use the method shown at Install missing components to unpack the installer of your previous iTunes installation and extract the .msi file you require. Double-click this to uninstall the component. There are links to recent builds of iTunes in the Older versions section of the user tipTroubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Wow! Thank you so much. I was having the same issue. I had installed Windows 10 but found it made my super fast computer super slow. I then uninstalled it according to windows instructions only to find it messed up several programs, iTunes was one. I was not sure how to fix it. Thanks to you it now works perfectly!
You're welcome. 🙂

Thank you!!! Nothing else was working. I had the same issue as someone else: I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 and it hosed up so many things on my computer that I rolled back to Win 7. Everything worked until the next iTunes update would not install. Fixed now!!!!
Good to hear you're up & running again. 🙂

I also installed Windows 10 and didn't like it at all. I restored Windows 8.1 and immediately ran into the missing itunes6464.msi file issue. Followed the above instructions and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes - no other issues. Thank you for the accurate and error-free fix.
You're welcome. 🙂
