Apps won't switch to landscape mode

Many of my apps won't switch to landscape mode (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Yelp). I know that landscape works on my phone because Photos, Messages, Calculator, etc. will switch to landscape mode. Also, I don't have the portrait lock on. The apps used to switch to landscape - what's up? Could it be because of the new update?

It may very well be a problem with the app itself. I hold my iPad in landscape myself. It's very unnatural and uncomfortable to hold it in portrait and I won't download nothing that won't switch to landscape. If I do download something and it turns out it's in portrait, it comes right off and I won't use it. I even have my device locked in landscape in the position I hold it. Somethings that go into landscape go in upside down and you must rotate your device, those apps also come right off and I won't use them either. This is the rule weather on iPad or smart phone, I hold my device only one way which is natural for me and very comfortable. I just don't like a cramped screen, which is why landscape is my thing. Right now I use an iPad, this is more comfortable for me and I want all of my apps to switch to landscape or they won't be on here

Apple, will you please consider making all apps switch optionally to landscape and not just portrait? To many times I check the app preview only to find out it's only portrait mode, and even after I get it on my device, same thing, I won't switch to landscape. I have my device purposely locked in landscape for a reason and I want my apps that I choose to have in landscape

I've resisted a hard reset. I recall being able to use landscape mode in those apps before, and I'm hard-pressed to come up with a reason why app developers would restrict their iPhone apps to portrait mode. Friends and family who have similar Android apps are able to switch to landscape mode without a problem.

Are those apps I referenced (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, etc.) normally capable of displaying in landscape mode in iOS?

Then the next steps in user troubleshooting are restore from backup, and if necessary restore as new. I would also ask, have you checked to make sure that the Orientation Lock is not on? Check in the status bar to see if you see a small padlock with a circular arrow around it next to the battery status. If so, you turn this off from the Control Center. Swipe upwards from off the bottom of the screen, then Orientation Lock is on the top row all the way to the right. White is on, black is off. I have also read that there is a screen zoom setting, either in Display & Brightness or Wallpaper. I don't have an iPhone 6, so I cannot compare. Supposedly in the zoom setting, it can prevent some things from happening, and I believe landscape orientation was one of them.

If on an iPad, you would have a switch on one of the corners that you can control through your settings and tell it what to do. You can set it that when it's switched over, you can set it to lock your device into landscape or portrait mode. This is called lock rotation in your settings. If you set it to mute, you mute all sounds.

Contacting Apple, you can suggest they add landscape to all of their apps. Some of the problems I have had is where it offers landscape but it displays upside down. I won't keep it, it comes right off along with any other app that won't switch to landscape. Before downloading anything on an iPad, check the screenshot preview, it shows what mode it supports. If it don't support landscape, it don't get on here
